Francis Frith, the pioneer Victorian photographer founded the Frith archive in 1860 and today the archive contains over 365,000 photographs of some 7,000 towns and villages throughout Britain.
The Frith archive provides an amazingly detailed visual record of castles, towns and villages, as well as illustrating the enormous social and structural changes, which have taken place in Britain since 1860. There are over 250 local history book titles, which include a voucher for a free Francis Frith print of any image in the book, that have been published by The Frith Book Company.
